We are a Christian congregation, brought together by the saving message of Jesus Christ, and affiliated with the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS).  “Synod” is a Greek word which means “assembly.”  The LCMS is an assembly of congregations who agree in doctrine.  We are called “Missouri” because that’s where the Synod’s history began.  Originally we were named “The German Evangelical Lutheran Synod of Missouri, Ohio and Other States.”  (See: History of the LCMS)

We believe all people are sinful and in desperate need of the salvation provided by the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross.  We are not worthy of forgiveness, life, and salvation, but Jesus gives them to us freely through His Word and Sacraments.

We accept without reservation:

  • The Scriptures of the Old and the New Testament as the written Word of God and the only rule and norm of faith and of practice;
  • All Symbolical Books of the Evangelical Lutheran Church as a true and unadulterated statement and exposition of the Word of God.
