The Book of John

Beginning December 3, we will read a Gospel that is not like

the other three, which we call "Synoptic" Gospels.  The Synoptic Gospels provide a "common view" of Jesus' life and teaching, sometimes seeming to borrow material for each other.  John is rather unique in his naration and record of Jesus' teachings.  We will address the many questions that come up because this and will find that the differences in the Gospels defend rather than contradict the inerrancy of the Scriptures.  John also records some of Jesus' more difficult sayings like: "Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you."  We will navigate Jesus' enigmatic sayings and signs and wonder at the mystery of the Word made Flesh, whose death gives us life!
