Confessing Christ's Coming TreeofJesseChiRho

If you knew Jesus were coming tomorrow to judge world, what would you do differently today? You might confess your sins. You might confess the faith to your unbelieving friends and relatives. Advent is here and we are reminded again that Jesus is coming soon and no one knows when the hour will be. Our theme for the midweek Advent services is “Confessing Christ’s Coming.” We will be looking at four ancient church fathers – Andrew, Nicholas, Ambrose, and Thomas – and how God used them to confess Christ to the world. We will hear about our Savior who uses ordinary men to share extraordinary grace. This proclamation of grace will continue until Jesus comes again in power and glory. Even more urgent that getting all our decorations up and gifts bought before Christmas is our need to hear the gospel and share it with others!  Let us grow together in our confession of faith Wednesdays at 7 p.m., beginning November 30th.

(Sundays in Advent we will be looking at the Epistle lessons for characteristics of faith that help us wait for Christ’s coming: Wakefulness, Hopefulness, Patience, and Harkening.)
